Hey, why is my PageRank minus 3?

I just went to check the PageRank of my homepage. Look what I found. Yes, underneath the rank it does say “the page rank value is 3″ but the little hyphen did worry me a bit. Tweet

Let’s see how many people we can get… spammed, that is

How many times have you come across one of those silly Facebook groups: “Come on guys, let’s see if we can make this stale bit of cheese look more popular than this random celebrity whose music I don’t like anymore.” Isn’t that a fun idea? Well, until you see how many other people have jumped [...]

How CMF Ads is changing blog advertising

Way back in 2008, when the world was young(er) and so was I, a few advertising services were available for bloggers. At the time, Entrecard was the main place where I advertised my blog. Sure, you shouldn’t rely too heavily on one traffic source, but it worked wonders for me. Exactly one year after I [...]

The non-announcement post: A preview without substance

For the last few weeks, I’ve been sitting on some news that I really want to announce, but it’s not quite ready to be shared yet. Mind you, I’ve still told a few friends and family. I just haven’t formally announced it yet. And then, a second bit of news came along. Guess what – [...]

When I bookmark sites in my browser, I put them into folders. Email gets organised with labels. And blog posts have categories to aid navigation. It makes a lot of sense [...]

It’s my birthday. And I have something to declare

I have long stated that I never do much for my birthday. Well, I had a great day on Saturday with the family. Much food, drink and merriment was had by all. Saturday wasn’t actually my birthday, though. Also, while I haven’t had a lot of people tell me that I’m getting on a bit, [...]

Software testing: between edge cases and the critical path

Once you’ve been working for more than a few years, it becomes more and more difficult to avoid screwing up. Of course, we all screw up, but I mean the kind of thing that can do a lot of damage to your standing with current and future employers. Here’s the dilemma: stay in a job [...]
