Ben Barden is an experienced web developer who thoroughly enjoys building software. Currently working for a digital agency in Central London.
Some points of interest:
- has worked in both development and testing
- works well in a team, but often works alone
- views working from home as a good opportunity for a blitz
- writes clear documentation, whether technical guides or user tutorials
- prefers to leave out jargon unless it's absolutely necessary
- doesn't expect everyone to use the same browser
- prefers to build something that people want or need, than just use technology for technology's sake
Projects
Some of Ben's past projects include:
- building an open source content management system designed to make website publishing easy, regardless of your technical ability;
- building a customer database with call history, email quotes, online invoicing, quarterly invoice emails, monthly statements, reports, and a customer control panel;
- building a low cost, high value advertising network, with vbulletin forums, integrated control panel, PayPal purchasing, support ticket system, financial statistics, moderation tools;
- redesigning a club membership package for Windows, with improvements including a custom report builder and dynamic document builder;
