I don't mean "should you write tips for other bloggers?". What I mean is, how often should you write posts that only focus on YOU and YOUR blog?I think blogging about achievements is great as well.
I agree that much of this can be included in your about page. I've also started to include some statistics and rankings information on my "advertise" page. It's there if people are interested but not broadcast regularly. I'm thinking about putting a subscriber count widget on that page as well although I'm always nervous about the whole "dropping to zero" that feedburner does occasionally.
As for posting, I think it should be rather sparse. I've started including a few bits in some of my wrap-up posts on Lightening's Blogworld (covering all of my blogs) as per your suggestion in your post about wrap-up posts. That way the post is not ONLY about my blogs.
If I didn't blog useless information about myself and my blog I'd have nothing to blog at all. I'd just have to type random letters and let everyone think I was being really clever, typing in some very complicated code.
Do you think that would work? Seriously... it could... Hmmm...

Michael - that's what I do too.
esvl - I think it depends on what the achievements are, but in most cases I agree it's a good idea.
Lightening - don't worry too much about Feedburner glitches affecting your site's reputation; problems are relatively infrequent, and all sites are hit at the same time - so the issue is usually well-publicised. Glad you're doing wrap-up posts.
Laura - you never know until you try! Don't forget, you do the doodles too.
Thanks for the comments. :)
I tend to talk about my blog and myself in relation to any software, blog tools, addins or social networking sites I use. If I talk about any of these I feel that I have had to have used them myself, where ever, possible rather than relying on reviews made by others.
At other times I will talk a bit about myself as I feel that I need to personalize the blog but I do not think I do this too often - not consciously at least.
Thanks for commenting Sue. :) I think that's a good balance. Speaking from experience can certainly benefit readers.
I usually blog about myself/life only when there's something interesting or during big events.
As to post about my own blog, I usually do a monthly traffic/statistic every beginning of the month :)
