As per the little discussion we had a while back, I can safely say that yes, subscribers do go up if you go from posting frequently to not so frequently.According to feedburner, I have zero subscribers. I know this is a lie because two of my friends have told me that they subscribed. Of course, the last time I spoke to either one of them about it was 3 months ago. Ben, I bet if anyone can figure out the secret to getting 2 billion in 24 hrs... it'd be you!
Good point Sailor. That's why I use both subscribers and comments as indicators of how my site is doing.
fragileheart, I prefer to grow my site organically, so I'll just have to play the waiting game... :)
well, I've just noticed something about my visiting your website. At the time, you know my main reason for visiting is your music, not having a real need for any content relating to blogs and such (yet). That aside, today I noticed that I've poked through some blog posts of yours and reply with comments when I feel as if I have something interest to say.
I guess that is the point of a website, but I just noticed you bribe me with your music ;p -tease-
I have found that if you break your posting pattern it is as if the regular visitors get tired of visiting just to see if there is something new and they subscribe to be kept informed that way. There is however always the danger that some might actually just lose interest. I think we need to remember that not all enjoy using a reader. I in fact know of some who have never even heard of this kind of thing and to them RSS means nothing.
