< Friends or Lovers? : Paradise Island >
Poetry from Setting Scenes.
As I lie by the side of my loved one,
Who is wasting away as I speak,
I wish for the past
When we thought it would last
And my loved one did not feel so weak.
Her soul, it is fading this evening
But her beauty, it never will die
Though her being is gone,
Her life will live on,
But her well will have run all but dry.
Mother Nature begins her game,
She moves to make another claim.
Unto the stars above,
Please do not take my love,
Or my life just will not be the same.
A wondrous life she endured then,
But her body is slipping away.
She's trying to cope,
On this slippery slope,
But she'll fall at the end of the day.
And I'm watching her breathe her last breaths now,
As soon, she will surely be gone.
Respired, weeks past,
But this day is her last
Though not quite, as her body lives on.
Mother Nature begins her game
And moves to make another claim.
Unto the stars above,
Please do not take my love,
Or my life just will not be the same.
