Distorting the facts

< Round peg, square hole : Erroneous Wisdom >

Loudspeaker crackle, buzz and hum
now where did I lose you
was it all too much
or did you ever really listen?

Electric guitar, distorted and loud
so did you ever like it
did it go too far
or were you on your way out?

Like writing on a page
when everything makes sense
but someone reads between the lines
and turns it to nonsense

Piano man, so free and sweet
now do you like the way
he moves his hands
is he better than me?

Drumbeat guru, rhythmic moves
he earns respect from you
and still you don't
give me a second thought

Be careful with your thoughts
if you're writing it all down
for people read between the lines
and turn it upside-down
