Random bits and pieces, part 2

< Random bits and pieces : 100 Entrecard Credits Giveaway! >

Although I have a growing list of topics to blog about, it's going to get a bit boring if I keep writing about the same stuff.  Most of the ideas I have relate to blogging in general, and I don't want to write about that every single day as it's not the only thing I do.

So today's blog entry is a round-up of a few things that just don't fit anywhere else.

Reaching out to other bloggers

Previously I wrote about my intention to reach out to other bloggers.  So far this has been quite successful as I've been finding a few new blogs via MyBlogLog.  A special shout out and thank you to this girl's weblog for the link exchange, which will hopefully be good for both of us.  Thanks to all the recent visitors for checking in, too.

News from Injader

Majestic 1.1 has been released.  Also, Majestic 1.2 is in progress.  We've got some pretty cool stuff to share in the not too distant future, and the updates are just going to keep on coming.  If you're interested to see how we get on, subscribe to the Injader Blog by email so you don't miss anything.

Pure House Music relaunch

A friend (Ollie Brooke) who used to visit my old music site has just released version 3 of his dance music site, Pure House Music dot net.  There are various tracks and mixes that can be downloaded for free.  At the moment it's open to everyone, but I understand you'll need to register to access the site soon.  It's still going to be free though.  Well worth checking out.  Congrats to Ollie for getting the new version done!

Last.fm listener stats

The number of listeners I have on Last.fm just keeps going up, albeit slowly.  You can see the current total here: Ben Barden - Music at Last.fm.

As you'll see on that page, I remarked that I had 550 listeners on August 20th.  Less than 3 months later, I now have 628 listeners.  (The number increases whenever someone listens to my music for the first time.)  Not bad considering I haven't used any of the paid promotional options for months.

It seems like quite a few people have discovered Message for a Child.  The recent increase is mostly to do with the fact I've now tagged all of my tracks, as many of them were not tagged before.  I'm sure some of my exposure is due to the three killer tips to get your music heard that I recently wrote about.

Music surprises coming soon

I've dropped a subtle hint or two about some music-related "surprises" that are coming soon.  Today, I made a list of these and I hadn't realised just how many good things I have to share with you all.

These "surprises" are not going to come along all at once, as I'm spreading them out.  All I will say for now is that if you like my music, I think you're going to be very happy with some of the things that are coming up.  Subscribe by email to make sure you don't miss out.  It'll be worth it.

That's all for now!
